Spiced Simmer Pot

Spiced Simmer Pot

Sometimes the standard store-bought gift won’t do. Delight them with a handmade gift for home.

Every Christmas there is someone on my list that I don’t exactly know their tastes. You know, that person that leaves you stumped with what to gift them? It might be a teacher, a dance teacher, or coach… and while I want to be thoughtful in my gift-giving approach for these important people in our community, I always struggle to come up with an idea that is useful and doesn’t look like a last-minute grab.

So, I started getting a little creative with a homemade gift for them. I came up with an idea I keep coming back to–these cute Spiced Simmer Pots!

These Spiced Simmer Pots were perfect for gift-giving for our teachers. They are simple to create and have a stunning ‘wow’ factor. I even created a printable card with instructions. And I personalized each bundle with a gift card on top.

With a blink and a nod–I crossed these little holiday gifts right off my list.

Best Gift Idea for Mom

Maybe Mom ‘doesn’t need anything’ for Mother’s Day… but she probably won’t turn this down.

So, you’ve scoured the internet to find the perfect gift to show mom your appreciation, but nothing you found seems right.

You thought about making something for mom, but possibly due to time constraints (or your lack of craftiness), you gave up on that idea.

And as soon as you saw this Mother’s Day treat (complete with a can of rosé), you knew. This is the perfect gift for mom. So, here is your shopping list– complete with links to the rectangle snack box, and a free pdf printable tag. If you are feeling extra, you can even throw in a gift card. Cheers–to mom!

Homemade Cleaning Solution

Homemade Cleaning Solution

This homemade cleaning solution is simple, stress-free, and works great for those daily cleanups.

Streak-free cleaning products that are gentle on my home are a must. This cleaning solution recipe can be customized to your own scent preference by adding a few drops of your own essential oils.

Using refillable bottles is a great way to care for the environment too! If you are looking for a creative way to get this look – grab your own spray trigger tops, and soap dispensers (like these ones found on Amazon).

I add these ingredients directly to my refillable bottle, seal the top, and give it a gentle shake.

Over the years, products change. It can be super frustrating to fall in love with a simple cleaning product that is no longer easily found. Rather than search high and low and spend money on pricey products, do yourself a favor and bookmark this recipe to make your own cleaning solution for pennies on the dollar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart warm water
  • 1 tsp liquid dish soap
  • 1 tsp Borax
  • 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 2-3 drops essential oil (optional)

A Family Advent Activity

A Family Advent Activity

Staying intentional in this season of hustle + bustle is no easy task. Over the years, we have curated this family advent activity to help us to stay focused on spending time together over the holiday season.

Elf on the shelf? Secret Santa? Shopping? Shopping? Shopping? There are so many boxes to check in this season, it can be easy to lose your ground in the midst of it all. In our family, we have found that what goes on the calendar first is most likely to happen. And so, we make time each day for a fun family activity together.

Each day our kids look forward to opening the box to see what activity is tucked inside (and of course they love the treats too).

This diy advent activity keeps us caroling, sharing memories over dessert, playing a quick game of family charades, and even encourages us to grab a cup of coffee, go ice skating, or play in the snow together. The printable version is my gift to your family this season. Enjoy!

A Simple Citrus Hack

A Simple Citrus Hack

Citrus fruit is delicious and has many good benefits – and you probably already have some in your home, to eat. But if your citrus fruit begins to look less than ideal for nibbling on, consider using it to create some sturdy + natural home decor! Dried citrus slices take just a little effort (+ a good dose of patience), but the end result is simply beautiful.

Dried citrus slices are a great way to take a simple + natural tablescape ‘to the nines’. A simple piece of fruit becomes art. Just slice and bake. The natural materials are beautifully minimalist with an understated look. Oh, and try this out when you have time to be patient. Some good things take time… but we think you’ll agree – these are worth the wait!

Table Decor for the Holidays

Table Decor for the Holidays

While this year may look different, even the smallest gatherings are worthy of a little no-stress table decor.

Tips to take this to the nines:

Have you considered setting your table the night before? Finishing this task the night before (instead of in between the mashed potatoes and gravy) allows you space to relax and time to enjoy your little details.
